Services

Examinations performed in Kirkland and Oak harbor

We have big hearts but we are a very small team.  We are able to provide a limited number of appointments for dogs and cats only. We carefully plan how many patients we are able to accept in order to provide focused care to all of our patients.

Dr. Zirofsky will perform ophthalmology exams in person at the Kirkland and Oak Harbor locations thanks to Dr. David Abolnik and Dr. Adrienne Bennet sharing their clinics.

Scheduling and communications for See Spot Veterinary Ophthalmology are managed via this website.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • We ask that you not contact Dr. Abolnik or Dr. Bennett for appointments with Dr. Zirofsky as they will not have access to your records or scheduling.

  • We do not have emergency or after hours services.

Limited Procedures and Surgery

In addition to examinations, we will perform procedures that require sedation and anesthesia.

We will not be offering intra-ocular surgeries or operating microscope surgeries at this time. Those procedures we cannot perform include cataract surgery, lens removal surgery and corneal/conjunctival grafting.

Current procedure/surgery options include:

Grid Keratotomy

Diamond burr Keratotomy

Eyelid mass cryosurgery

Entropion surgery

Enucleation (eye removal) surgery

Prolapsed nictitans (cherry eye) surgery

Eyelid laceration repair

Eyelid biopsies

Distichia cryosurgery

Ectopic cilia cryosurgery

Dr. Dara Zirofsky

Dr. Zirofsky attended Brown University for her undergraduate degree, and UC Davis to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After completing her veterinary degree, she went on to a general internship and then an ophthalmology internship at a multi-specialty practice in New Jersey.  Her ophthalmology residency and Masters Degree in Clinical Sciences were accomplished at Colorado State University where her research focused on canine glaucoma and feline herpes virus.

She moved to Washington state in 2009 and knew immediately it was forever home. She practiced at Northwest Animal Eye Specialists in Kirkland for 16 years until it closed in February 2025. She has been inspired by her clients and patients alike. She is continuing her work in the Puget Sound area as See Spot Veterinary Ophthalmology.

Dr. Zirofsky relishes her time with her husband, super mutt Citra, doodle Alfie and her cat George with far too many toes. She enjoys all the Pacific Northwest has to offer from beautiful nature to exceptional community.
